Call For Submissions of Cultural and Creative Products, Popular Science Reading Materials, and Characteristic Rock and Mineral Specimens from Zhangye Global Geopark

To all UNESCO Global Geoparks and the sister geoparks of Zhangye UNESCO Global Geopark:

The exhibition upgrade of Zhangye Global Geopark Museum has been completed. During this upgrade, a special area for displaying and selling cultural and creative products and a science popularization exhibition area that can fully display the educational excursion routes of the Zhangye UNESCO Global Geopark (hereinafter referred to as Zhangye UGGp) were newly built in the geopark museum. In order to further enhance the science popularization and education capabilities of the geopark museum, better play the role of promotion and science popularization, and strengthen the exchange and cooperation among geoparks, we are now calling for submissions of cultural and creative products, popular science reading materials, and characteristic rock and mineral specimens from all UNESCO Global Geoparks and sister geoparks of Zhangye UGGp. After the adoption, Zhangye UGGp will carry out special exhibitions and explanations in the exhibition halls of the geopark museum to promote humanistic characteristics, popularize the geoheritages, and display the special rock and mineral specimens of various global geoparks. At the same time, online promotion and sales will also be carried out through the QR code.

The specific matters are as follows:

A.Submission period:

June 20, 2023 to July 20, 2023

B.Submission target:

All UNESCO Global Geoparks and sister geoparks of Zhangye UGGp

C.Requirements for cultural and creative products, popular science reading materials, and characteristic rock and mineral specimens:

Cultural and creative products should meet the relevant requirements of UNESCO and have their own regional characteristics in terms of geology, humanities, etc. Popular science reading materials should have novel designs and content that conforms to positive values and is accurate, vivid, and easy to understand. Characteristic rock and mineral specimens should be able to reflect the geological structure features and historical geological changes of the geopark, with a size not exceeding 25 cm X 25 cm X 25 cm, and labeled with relevant scientific popularization information.

D.Submission method:

1. Pack the high-definition pictures and brief introductions of the geopark's cultural and creative products, popular science reading materials, and characteristic rock and mineral specimens and send them to the email address: 514163029@qq.com. Contact number: 15293080516.

2. If the cultural and creative products, popular science reading materials, or characteristic rock and mineral specimens pass our screening, we will provide you with an inventory list form. Please mail them accordingly. The expenses incurred by mailing will be borne by Zhangye UGGp.
