Announcement on Recruiting Partners for Zhangye UNESCO Global Geopark

Zhangye UNESCO Global Geopark (UGGP) was approved to be upgraded from National Geopark in 2020. With a total area of 1,290 square kilometers, there are three national-level tourist attractions, namely, Colorful Hills, Binggou Danxia, Chinese Yugur Customs Corridor, and two world-class geoheritages: colorful hills and Jiugequan Plate Tectonics Suture Zone. The Zhangye UGGp has a unique geo-ecological background and a functional orientation integrating scientific research, science popularization, tourism, historical and cultural display, ethnic customs experience, and geoheritage conservation. In 2022, the Geopark was designated as a National Science Popularization Education Base. In 2023, it will meet the re-evaluation from UNESCO. To echo the “caring for the earth and popularizing geoscience” advocated by UNESCO and promote the coordinated development of local society and economy driven by geo-tourism, Zhangye UGGp is now soliciting partners from the entire city. Relevant matters are hereby announced as follows:

1. Solicitation scope: Scenic spots, museums, exhibition halls, cultural cultivation centers, intangible cultural heritage inheritance institutions, hotels, tour agencies, inns, agritainment, and other enterprises.

2. Solicitation time: long-term

3. Application requirements:

1) Required materials: The Application Form of Zhangye UGGp Partner(Attachment 2), the application report, a copy of the applicant’s or authorized agent’s ID card, power of attorney, legal persons qualification certification of the work, and copy of institution code certificate. Additionally, three photos of the company’s internal and external environment and products should be provided (digital copies with high-definition, not less than 2M). 2) Application Permission Progress: Zhangye National Geopark Administration will aperiodically assign special personnel to conduct on-site inspections and review relevant materials on the application companies after receiving the complete application materials. For companies that meet the requirements within the collection deadline, the administration shall sign a cooperation agreement with them and award them licenses.
