The Rapid Growth on the Research Tourism of Zhangye National Geopark
Since this year, relying on the unique natural landscape, profound cultural accumulation, strong ethnic customs, rich rural folk customs and moving red culture, Zhangye National Geopark has actively developed the geological popular science, rural cultural experience, red inspiration and other research tourism products, which has enabled the rapid growth in the tourism industry. From January to July this year, geopark scenic spots has received more than 4000 person-times from various research tourism and summer social practice teams.
The Zhangye National Geopark has planned and launched a series of multiplex research routes with Colored Hills, Qicai Town, geopark museum, folk culture tourism village, Hexi folk Custom expo-park, bing’gou danxia, Yugu style Corridor, Shiwo Meeting Monument, Memorial Hall of Linze Gattle for the Red West Army , Wangjiadun Battle Site and other scenic spots as a fulcrum, attracting a large number of foreign and domestic college, middle school and primary school students to take a tour in the Zhangye National Geopark.
The Municipal Office of Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs organized 30 Chinese-American primary and middle school students to carry out popularization education on the geological science; Zhangye Kanghui travel agency organized more than 1000 middle school and primary school students in Jinchang city to carry out the popularization education and red culture education on the geological science; The Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences organized more than 20 graduate students majoring in geology to carry out geological research and on-site teaching in Qi’lian mountain and Zhangye National Geopark; Hexi university, together with many universities across the country, organized teachers and students to carry out biodiversity research in Zhangye Geopark; The CPC has continuously deepened the summer practice in Zhangye city for the nationwide college students, and organized and mobilized more than 400 teachers and college students from 50 teams and 30 universities to carry out the practice in Zhangye National Geopark.
