Legal Protection Framework
Zhangye geopark is subordinate to the PRC government and protected by the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China, Environmental Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China, Geo-environmental Protection Law of Gansu Province and other relevant laws. The geopark will have clear boundaries and specified conservation targets. The management department of Zhangye Geopark will be responsible for developing and managing the geopark’s legal liabilities, including geoheritage conservation, popular science promotion and geotour promotion. The geopark sits on government land. The above legal framework ensures the sustainable development of Zhangye Geopark.
