Overall development goal

On the premise of protecting the park's unique clastic rock landscape (colorful hills and Danxia landforms) and precious plate suture relics, disseminate the geoscience knowledge related to the genesis of geological relics in geoparks, and carry out geoscience popular tourism activities, so as to build the park into an internationally renowned geological park integrating scientific research, popular science education and geoscience tourism.   

Sub-development goal

1. Objectives of Geological Heritage Protection

Establish and improve the park's geological heritage database, set up monitoring at important sites, build park monitoring center and park resources and environment monitoring station, strictly prohibit visitors from entering the super-protected areas, and do not set up any facilities and structures to protect the surrounding environment, so as to ensure the integrity of the relics.

2. Objectives of science popularization education

Promoting science popularization education and environmental education in parks, realizing teaching in tourism, making Zhangye Geopark becomes the base of national geological education and exchange, and realizing that 50,000 to 100,000 students enter parks every year.

3. Objectives of tourism development

By 2025, the annual number of visitors to the park reached 2.7 million, and the total tourism revenue reached 1.08 billion yuan.

4. Objectives of Community Development

    Drive the city's tourism economic development, promote accurate poverty alleviation, provide jobs, and promote the employment of the poor.
