The Zhangye Global Geopark Museum (Qilian Mountain National Park Natural Education and Ecological Experience Base) presents Zhangye's unique landscape and natural resources in all aspects through modern means such as large-scale graphic display, digital sand table holographic projection, VR/AR immersive experience, etc. During this study tour, students not only closely observed over 1,000 physical specimens of animals and plants and soil specimens from the Qilian Mountains, as well as rock and mineral specimens from 48 other Global Geoparks in China, but also engaged in ecological scene simulation and interactive science popularization devices. They also gained a thorough understanding of the formation process of representative geoheritages in Zhangye UNESCO Global Geopark, such as the Colorful Hills and the window-lattice and palace-style Danxia landform.
